Nino Batsiashvili – Anna Muzychuk 1-0Nino Batsiashvili played innacurately in the opening and Anna Muzychuk got an extra pawn and clear advantage after few precise moves. The situation has changed dramaticaly after the queens had been tradet and it turned out that white pieces were placed better than the black ones. Anna didn't manage to hold the rook ending and the game eventually finished with victory of Nino Batsiashvili.
Maria Muzychuk – Nana Dzagnidze 1:0Nana Dzagnidze surprised Maria in the opening on the first move as 1...e5 has never been played in her games with classical time control. Maria chose to play same 3.Bc4 as in her previous games and two knights defense apperead on the board. After long fight with chnaces for both sides, Maria Muzychuk, who had had already big advantage, found a nice sacrifice to finish the game

Valentina Gunina – Alexandra Kosteniuk 1:0 After interesting continuation 20.Na8, a very complex endgame appeared on the board.
After 26.c7 Valentina ended up in the position with 2 pawns for the knight and it turned out to be winning for her, even though she found not the most precise way to convert her advantage.
Elina Danielian – Lela Javakhishvili 0:1Elina Danielian tried to fight for innitiative and sacrificed a pawn to activate her pieces on the king's side. However, Black had enough defending resourses and Elina missed few moments where White could have made a draw. After the queens were exchanged, Lela slowly but surely converted her material advantage.
Zhao Xue – Almira Skripchenko 1:0After 12 moves both players had only half an hour left on the clock and had to play the rest of the game being under time pressure, which interferred in the logical course of the game. It seems that Black didin't manage to solve the opening problems and Zhao had an easy play on the Queen's side, while Almira was desperately trying to find a plan to get some counter chances.
After 26.c5! Zhao sacrificed a pawn and got a very strong innitiative.
Olga Girya – Bela Khotenashvili 1/2:1/2
The only game in the ninth round, which finished in a draw but could have had another course if Olga Girya found the exact continuation on move 16.
After 16.e4! a long defence in quite an unpleasant position with a pawn down was waiting for Black.
After the move in the game 16.Qg4, Bela Khotenashvili equalized the postion and the game finished in a draw after first time control.
